Avionics

I am getting my avionics panel made by Midwest Panels Builders in the USA. They have built a good reputation and specialise in Sling aircraft panels. Several other UK builders have also used them with good feedback.

The plan is to have the IFR restriction removed at some point subject to LAA/CAA approvals. At least plan for capability later. The panel is built around Garmin G3X plus GTN650Xi providing GPS VOR capability and COM with a G5 as a backup. Garmin GMC507 autopilot. The audio panel and transponder are remote units controlled by the G3X (GMA245R and GTX45R).

My panel design has room for additional instruments if needed. Also, 1″ ball mount for a tablet running Pilotaware ‘Radar’ and or Skydemon.

The final layout just before shipping.

Below, the 6 iterations below.
